Durock MD brand fiberglass mat wall backing board is a gypsum panel with a fiberglass mat face and back. The face of the panel is treated with a patented cementitious coating to resist moisture and provide enhanced tile adhesion, making it an ideal substrate for wet areas Res1, Res2, Res3, Com1, Com2 and Com3 according to the Tile Council of North America Handbook 2014. Durock MD fiberglass mat wall backing boards combine the adhesion of cement board type tiles with the handling and ease of use of a Sheetrock® brand panel. 15.9 mm (5/8 in.) Type X panels are UL listed for fire resistance.
